So, you are ready to adopt one of our special animals. This is a very exciting time.

Our adoption process is designed to match up each animal with the best home possible.

Here are the steps:

  1. Fill out an Adoption Application. You can download one by clicking HERE. (You will need the Adobe Acrobat reader (PDF), which is found HERE.)
  2. Come out to our Pet Adoption Center.
    1. *New Policy* We will only be able to adopt our animals out during our public hours. They are Mon, Wed, Sat from 10am to 2pm. We will not have the staff available to process adoptions outside our public hours. In special cases we may be able to make an appointment to meet with you. We hope that you will understand.
    2. A member of our staff will go over your application and clarify any potential issues.
    3. Actually meet our animals and interact with them.
      1. If you are adopting a dog, it is a very good idea to bring your other dog(s) with you so you can see if they are compatible. Please do not bring your dog(s) into the building until we are ready for them.
      2. We really like to have every member of the household to come out for this visit. It helps us to gauge compatibility. We also like to be certain that every member is OK with the decision to add a pet to the family.
    4. Once you have fallen in love with your new family member, you may fill out an adoption contract.
      1. If the animal has been spayed or neutered, you can pay the adoption fee and take him or her home with you.
      2. If the animal has not been spayed or neutered, you may leave a non-refundable deposit of 1/2 the adoption fee.
        1. This will "claim" this animal for you.
        2. We will stop advertising your new pet and remove him or her from our websites. (This is why the deposit is non-refundable.)
        3. Once the procedure is done, you may pay the remainder of the adoption fee and take your new family member home.
    5. The adoption fee for Dogs is $100 and for Cats it is $50. This includes:
      1. Spaying or neutering
      2. Rabies and other vaccines
      3. De-worming
      4. Micro chipping
      5. Starter bag of food
      6. Collar, and for dogs a leash
      7. An engraved name tag
      8. A toy
      9. A booklet about caring for your pet
      10. Cats get a cardboard carrier for the trip home
      11. One lovable pet!
    6. You can probably see that the adoption fee does not cover all the things we do for the animals and the things we send them home with.
    7. To be fair, it is our policy to adopt out our animals to the first qualified family that either pays the full adoption fee or pays a non-refundable deposit of half the adoption fee.
