Our Mission...
The purpose of the JCHSI is the prevention of cruelty to animals, the relief of suffering among animals, and the extension of humane education. It is policy to provide humane care and treatment for all animals needing protection in the area served by the society, to seek to return lost animals to their owners, to seek suitable homes for animals without owners, to promote a no-kill policy except to provide euthanasia when necessary as specifically determined by the Board of Directors under the advice of a veterinarian.
History...
Johnson County Humane Society was organized in 1977 to help provide humane care and treatment for all animals in the county. In 2001, we had received a donation of 34 acres of land in Butler, TN, to be the site of an adoption center.
